Hello Emily Arrow
Emily Arrow creates songs about…books! Formerly a K–6 music educator, Emily’s passion for books led her to create music that promotes literacy. Now based in Music City (Nashville, TN), Emily pioneers bringing today’s best picture books to life by collaborating with best-selling authors and publishers.
Her two albums, “Storytime Singalong, Volume 1 & 2,” are distributed nationally and are regularly #1 on SiriusXM Kids Place Live, Spare The Rock. Emily's YouTube Channel is a classroom sensation with over 8,000 subscribers.
Emily is also a children's author and her debut picture books with Penguin Random House (Tundra) are set for publication spring 2020 & spring 2021. An official Kala Ukulele Artist, she creates ukulele lessons for their online platform. She also creates music for children's television and publishing with clients including Sesame Street, Capstone Publishing, and Cantata Learning.
Emily tours the country, visiting over 60 elementary schools and public libraries. She appears at numerous festivals including The LA Times Festival of Books, the School Library Journal Summit, Portland's Wordstock, The Charlotte Huck Children's Literacy Festival, Sheboygan Children's Literacy Festival, Bookworm Book Fest, BAM! Books & Music Festival, NerdCampMI, Denver Festival of Stories, to name a few.
Emily also has a strong presence in independent bookstores across the country to show her support. She regularly performs at her local Parnassus Books (Nashville, TN) and nationally at Book People (Austin, TX), Blue Willow Bookshop (Houston, TX), Once Upon A Time (Los Angeles, CA), Blue Bunny Books (Boston, MA), Green Bean Books (Portland, OR), Vroman's Bookstore (Pasadena, CA), Bookbug (Kalamazoo, MI), Stories (Brooklyn, NY).
Emily recently opened a studio and shop in East Nashville called Singalong where she leads workshops, creates video content, and sells her favorite books & instruments. Her annual Teacher Summit attracted over 20 educators from around the country as the opening event at Singalong!
Experience and Education
A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Emily is also certified in Orff-Shulwerk music education Levels 1 & 2. She began her career working with children as the music teacher at a K-6th performing arts elementary school in Los Angeles. Emily has offered educator workshops at Concordia University, University of Redlands, and offers her very own annual Emily Arrow Teacher Summit for PK-5th grade educators.
