+ What is the course curriculum?
Each play-based video lesson is interactive and fun! Following the format of my book, Kids' Guide to Learning the Ukulele, (*available for purchase separately) lessons are structured with routine and repetition for mastery, while approaching each week with creative new twists and games!
In this self-guided video course, students can learn at their own pace.
Week 1: Introduction to Strumming and the C Chord
Week 2: F Chord and Song Notation
Week 3: G Chord and Am Chord
Week 4: Down-Up Strum and Pattern Identification
Week 5: Movement & Music Games and Song Mastery

My approach is founded in mindfulness and self-compassion, so I guide learners toward keeping track of their growth in their own Practice Journey (or practice chart) so we can celebrate them showing up to practice!

Philosophically, this course will most align with parents and educators who value play-based learning with child-directed outcomes.
When I was a classroom music teacher (K-6th grade), I learned how important the repetition of concepts was for musical mastery. My goal is to help young people build a healthy and lifelong relationship with music through creative repetition and habit forming.
+ What level is this course for?
This is a beginner's course for learners of all ages, specifically created for young people ages 5ish-9ish (4 with an adult's guidance or parent/child learning experience). Though I do believe the young at heart may find some inspiration here too!
A joyful music-making experience is my top priority, a child who feels they've already mastered the instrument would need a more advanced offering - Coming soon.
